Amateur boxing is one of the most tightly matched youth sports. These rules are the sport's own - we just enforce our part.
Competitive boxing starts at 10 at the earliest. Below that it is training and skills work, without head contact.
Juniors are matched inside tight age and weight bands - typically within 12 months and 2 kilograms - so bouts are between genuine equals.
After any stoppage involving the head there is a mandatory stand-down of at least 28 days before boxing again. It is in the rulebook, not at anyone's discretion.
Under-18 boxers are never shown by name or photo to other clubs. Matchmaking sees a reference code (like GB0000123), weight, age band and record - identity stays with your own club.
Forms about your child need a parent or guardian counter-signature. BoxerConnect does not accept or publish an under-18 boxer's profile photo.
A club must verify an admin email before it can search other clubs' boxers. The network is not open to anonymous accounts.
